My first time in Tombs as a monk
Hi guys! I just had the best experience in Tombs! Please keep in mind also that this was my very first time in Tombs as a monk
Anyhow, it was your regular B/P group, with me being the monk. Here's my build:
Healing: 12+1+2
Divine: 11+1 (haven't done the 2nd 15-point attribute quest yet )
Gear: desert collector armor, no vigor rune whatsoever, Stormray, 20/20 collector healing ankh
Skills:
Orison of Healing
Dwayna's Kiss
Word of Healing {E}
Remove Hex
Heal Party
Healing Breeze (never used)
Res Sig (never used)
Resurrect (don't have Rebirth yet)
So as you can see, it was a pretty ghetto setup.
From the beginning I could tell it was a pretty good B/P group, as I spend a lot of time in Tombs with my ranger. The amazing thing was, I was actually able to keep the whole group alive with just the first three spells. There were a few deaths and a few close calls, but for the most part, people's health hovered above 70%. I was also healing the pets. They do die to provide corpses for the MM, but I try to keep them alive as long as possible, and when they're rezzed, I try to WoH them.
Anyhow, we first lose a ranger at the 2nd level, then we lose a necro (orders) at the 3rd or 4th level, so we were down to 6, but we decide to go on. The going does get a bit tough, and there were a few close calls and some running involved. I only died once, though, during the whole thing.
We make to the final bosses, and we kill them with no problem. There was a lot of healing involved, but we survived.
The amazing thing was the energy management. I can spam those 3 5-energy spells like crazy and still not run out of energy. The only thing that does drain my energy is the occasional Heal Party in wurm-heavy areas, but I got BR'd whenever I ran low, which was not very often at all, this with me removing hexes off of the rangers the whole time. A couple of times, I spammed my health during battle, and it was 47/47
Granted, we had an awesome group, but I think this experience has pretty much convinced me that it's fun to play a monk! I had doubts before, but this is really exciting. I mean, the adrenaline rush never stops, as you try to keep the whole party alive. Yes, it's kind of stressful, but the thanks you get more than make up for it. Afterwards (yea I know, I'm a jerk ), I told the group that it was my first time monking in Tombs, and they couldn't believe it!
Anyway, I also have you guys to thank for that, with all the advice and such! And to top everything off, I got 1 ecto, 3 greens, and req 11 15>50 Eternal Bow from all of this, so I'm definitely a happy camper

Simple advice for your build: take something else over breeze, holy veil over remove hex, and only one res. Most probably a rebirth or resurrect since there arent any bosses to recharge your sig.

You need restorelife since you are the healing monk and let the protector use rebirth or better yet let the /mo doing the ressing not you .The only big problemin there are the worms once you get bast the chaos things. It seesm strange in there for me as I am use to pvping in there.

Its a B/P group so there is no protector.
Laugh at me but here is my build:
12+1+3 healing
12+1 divine
Etherial Light
Orizon of Healing
Heal Other
Heal Party
Sig of Devotion
Healing Breathe
Peace and Harmony
Resurection Chant
Acolyte armor
+5e sword of fortitude
Straw Effigy healing prayers
Why Peace and harmony when you have br? Because the order necro will leave/get DCed/won't use br enough. Also, I have to confess, because the best tombs monk I played with used that. I went with this this elite through the whole game, and got addicted to it. I healed teams without order many times, and we beat it. I think that's enough. The other skills have the same purpose: energy management for me means: use your skills so you can heal and NOT run out of energy, not: spam your skills, run out of energy, and find a way to get your energy back.
EDIT - I have a 15/-1 focus on slot 2 and a 15/-1 wand + 15/-1 focus on slot 3, in case of... fire.
EDIT 2 - Indeed hexes are a pain for barragers (empathy, mark of rodgort), and yes i'd go with remove hex over smite hex for example, because of the recharge time. However, I'd let a ranger take it (something I always do with my ranger, but I know most of the rangers don't).

Get the orders Necro to do the ressing or a R/Mo.Don't put all the pressure on the Monk.

I actually didn't have to do the rezzing once. The rangers/necros took care of that. Like I said, it was an experienced group, so I may have gotten lucky in that regard. But in the end, I found that just the 3 5-energy spells were enough to keep the group alive pretty well, with the occasional Heal Party thrown in there. I may go Mo/E for the glyph, right now I'm Mo/Me.

This is my Monk/Mesmer build for Tomb Green Farm:
Attributes
Inspiration Magic: 9
Healing Prayers: 10+1+3
Smiting Prayers: +1 (Minor Smite Rune, pay it no mind)
Protection Prayers: 4+1
Divine Favor: 11+1
Skills
Word Of Healing: Very large Heal, especially if ally is under 50% Health
Orison Of Healing: Basic Heal
Infuse Health: I use this if I have an ally that get caught in a big aggro and being pummeled on
Healing Touch: Only used after an Infuse
Dwaynas Kiss: Good Heal, especially since allies will be under the effects of Enchantments (Order Of Pain) or have Conditions on themselves
Mend Condition: Condition Removal
Inspired Hex: This serves a dual purpose, energy management and hex removal. At 9 Inspiration it provides 10 energy
Rebirth: Ressurection Skill(Make sure you DON'T rez in the heat of battle, you will lose all your energy and no energy=no heals)
Equipment
Droknars Forge 1.5k Ascetic Armor (aka Tats)
Kole's Torment (it has the same stats as Wenslauss' Faith)
This isnt limited to Tombs I use this as my normal setup in PvE
